Personal Document Storage
It is important to keep your personal documents safe, secure, easily accessible and portable so you can gather them quickly in an emergency. Here are some ideas to get you organized.
- Put copies and/or originals sealed in airtight bags such as Mylar or other vacuum pack bags
- Place copies in a cabinet or cupboard near an exit in your home
Do one or more of the following:
- Put copies and/or originals organized in a three-ringed binder or folder for storage at an alternate site
- Store copies with trusted adult children or family members
- Store originals and/or copies with your attorney
- Store originals and/or copies in a safe deposit box
- Store originals and/or copies in a fire proof safe
